BiblioCommons

I sure feel particularly grateful whenever I get the chance to leverage my skills, knowledge and experience as a Drupal developer for helping daringly innovative brands grow.

And BiblioCommons, a "software as a service" solutions provider, sure is a brand that fosters innovation and manages to revolutionize its target market: it created the concept (now turned into a web service) of an interactive front-end, feature-rich catalog addressing public library systems. And benefiting their readers, of course.

My Part in This Project:

My contribution to the website's current look and to its current set of functionalities and features included the site's building itself, custom Drupal module creation and theming.

Why Drupal?

Well, first of all it's no surprise when brands showing passion for innovation, for cutting-edge web technology, opt to go for Drupal. THE revolutionizing open source CMS software by definition!

Secondly (and thirdly and fourthly), their website was envisioned as a reflection of their own innovative solutions aimed at delivering "integrated discovery experiences" to library customers, instead of the conventional exclusively search experiences.

And since their software solutions were focused on user-interactivity and a on a whole "cluster" of cool functionalities (such as "book in progress", reader reviews, "Hold" and "Shelves" features etc.) their future Drupal website couldn't have been any less sophisticated in terms of the search experience that it was to deliver to its visitors.

And so, Drupal was chosen thanks to its unmatched flexibility and modular architecture, which allowed them to implement the search experience and user-oriented functionalities they needed.

And when there is no core or contributed Drupal module that could deliver you a context-sensitive functionality, you can team up with a Drupal developer and have him build it for you. So here is where I came in!
